The Way of the Cross Leads Home
TitanicMoment

I was born in Lincoln, Nebraska, the fourth and last child and the only girl. My mother aspired to be a writer and seemed to always be working on short stories and novels. I always thought I received those genes from her; until in these past years my father has shown me some of his creations and I realized the creativity and influence of the written word comes from both sides of my family.  From a young age I had the influence of frequent museum visits as well as attending concerts and live theater. And of course, for my generation, television and movie going were the most frequent forms of entertainment. During high school, which I spent in Caracas, Venezuela, I was always writing editorials, crusading for causes, and eventually working for the English-language newspaper as a columnist and freelance reporter.

I'm a graduate of LSU in Baton Rouge with a degree in Journalism which I put to good use working on various newspapers and in public relations until several years after I married Ron Mize, became a mother of Kristi and Teresa, and decided I'd rather travel.  So, for the past 18 years I've been a travel consultant and am the owner of Holiday Travel in Lufkin, Texas.

As a volunteer camera operator for IBN-TV,  I was introduced to the book, "ROARING LAMBS," by Bob Briner, which speaks about the responsibility those of us have who are in the entertainment industry, at whatever level. As a Christian, I felt God had given me a certain ability, which was, at that time, lying dormant. I didn’t know how to find the time or the outlet to express myself but knew I had a responsibility to honor that calling.

About four years ago I "seized the opportunity" to become the Drama Ministries team leader at Carpenter's Way, my home church in Lufkin.  I quickly found I could usually write a script faster and more fitting for our time and stage limitations than finding and re- writing one.  It seemed I had found my niche as far as my time and ability were concerned.
