The Salvation Army Breaks Ground on
Situated
on two acres, The Salvation Adult Day Center was built ten years ago
and serves up to 59 people a day in 8,200 square feet.
The additional space will provide much needed multi use areas
for exercise programs, crafts, and large group activities.
Additional restrooms and an expanded laundry area are also
being added to better serve day center participants.
A mini kitchen is included and will be used for snacks and
catering. Generous
storage areas are also included.
“We’re
extremely pleased with the level of service this facility provides
to the community,” says Mark Strong, Advisory Board Chairman.
“With this greatly needed expansion, the
Funding for this project has been provided in part by the
T.L.L. Temple Foundation, the Shands Family,
Temple – Inland Foundation and the Kurth Foundation.
The
goals of the
Participants include adults who are limited in their ability to
function independently in the community, in need of assistance with
personal care, socially isolated, confused and/or are physically
impaired.
