(Nacogdoches) – Former
US Congressman and Majority Leader, Tom DeLay will be speaking at
Harvest Point Church on July 6th during the 10:30 AM
Freedom Celebration this Sunday. He will be sharing how his
commitment of his life to Christ impacted his service to his country
as the Majority Leader.
The event will include Patriotic music and a mini-concert by
renowned soloist Chris Holloway, who is often featured on TBN and
other Christian television networks and radio.
Chris joined the staff of Harvest Point in January of this
year and also works with Vision Mr. DeLay developed a reputation while in Congress serving as a Texas Congressman as one of the most effective House Majority Whips and Majority Leaders in the history of the US House of Representatives. As an ardent defender of the unborn and outspoken opponent of abortion, he was respected by both sides of the debate for his ability to get legislation that he favored through Congress. On October 23rd, 2003, unreported by the press, Congressman DeLay orchestrated a solemn assembly through a joint resolution of the House and the Senate and led by the respective Chaplains of both houses. In the Hall of the House, Senators and Representative gathered for prayer and forgiveness for more than three hours. Many members were deeply moved by experience as Democrats, Republicans and Independents sought reconciliation with each other and with the God. Rick Scarborough says of Tom DeLay; “It was my
